Everything you need to know about how ThronesPickems works.

Pick'em (Core Game)
How It Works

Before each round of a tournament, you pick the winner of every match in that round. After the round is played, you earn points based on how many picks you got right.

Scoring
  • 1 point per correct pick (standard scoring).
  • Your total score is the sum of correct picks and any bonus points accumulated across all rounds.
Perfect Week Bonus
  • If you correctly predict every non-bye match in a Swiss round, you earn a 1-point bonus for that round.
  • Only completed Swiss rounds are eligible – elimination rounds (Top 8, Top 4, Finals) do not count for this bonus.
Pick Deadlines
  • Each round has a lock time set by the commissioner. Picks must be submitted before the lock.
Late Joiners
  • Members who join after the first round has already been played receive a 4-point bonus to help offset the missed round.
Leaderboard
  • The overall leaderboard shows your total points: pick points + any bonus points (from predictions, futures, perfect weeks).
Survivor Contest Optional

The survivor contest is an optional side challenge that runs alongside the standard pick'em. Commissioners can enable or disable it for their league.

How It Works
  • Each round, pick one entrant you believe will win all of their matches that round.
  • If your chosen entrant wins all their non-bye matches, you advance to the next round.
  • If your chosen entrant loses or ties any match, you are eliminated from the survivor contest.
Key Restrictions
  • You cannot reuse the same entrant in a later round – once you've picked them, they're off your board.
  • Missing a pick automatically eliminates you.
Winning
  • The last player(s) standing win the survivor contest.
  • Survivor standings track how many rounds each member has survived.
Rankings Optional

Rankings are an optional side feature that commissioners can enable or disable for their league.

How It Works
  • You can set a personal power ranking of all entrants in a tournament.
  • Your ranking acts as an independent participant – it submits its own picks each round based on your ranked order, always choosing the higher-ranked entrant in each match.
  • The ranking's score is tracked on the leaderboard alongside human participants, so you can see how your ranking strategy compares to your manual picks.
Tournament Futures (Predictions) Optional

Tournament futures are optional pre-tournament predictions. Commissioners can enable or disable them for their league.

How It Works
  • Before the tournament begins, pick your predicted Champion (1st place), Runner-up (2nd place), and two Semifinalists (3rd/4th place).
  • All four picks must be different entrants.
  • Predictions lock once the first round's lock time passes or any match begins – no changes after that.
Scoring
  • 1 point for correctly predicting the Champion.
  • 1 point for correctly predicting the Runner-up.
  • 1 point for each correct Semifinalist (up to 2 points).
  • Maximum of 4 bonus points from predictions, added to your overall leaderboard total.
When Are Predictions Scored?
  • Predictions are scored progressively as elimination rounds complete – partial credit may appear before the tournament ends.
  • Points are added to your leaderboard total as bonus points.
